According to a recently published study, covered in Slate, women subconsciously choose to dress more attractively when they’re ovulating.

Female college students were photographed and urine-tested twice a month, not knowing the true purpose of the study. The urine was tested for ovulation markers, and the photographs were shown to judges who were asked to choose in which of the photographs the women were attempting to look more attractive. Sixty percent of the time, the judges chose photos taken during ovulation.

One female friend of mine was recently chastised by a stranger at a bar for being too flirtatious. “You must be ovulating, honey,” the woman said to my friend, “because you’re really putting it out there.”
