Desparation = rejection

Here's further proof that one of the best known laws of economics applies to romance: The more available something is, the less value it is perceived to have.

Researchers at Northwestern University studied speed daters. Women who selected a larger number of men for follow-up meetings received fewer favorable responses than women who selected just a smaller number.

One of the researchers, Eli J. Finkel, Ph.D., said in essence that while showing an abundant openness to others may help one succeed in building platonic relationships, it make one seem desperate in the quest for love.

To succed in attracting others romantically, the researchers say, be very open to one person, but not so much to everyone else.
